Improvement in transparency

We’re really pleased about the data and insights that we’ve accessed through our partnership with Fairly Made. We chose them so that we’d get Passenger-specific information about our hot spots, so we could take targeted action to decarbonise. We’re so excited about utilising this information and making it available to our customers as well

Passenger, founded by Rich Sutcliffe and his partner Alexa, was born out of a shared passion for adventure and the outdoors. With a strong focus on reducing their environmental footprint, the brand is committed to offering responsibly made clothing that minimizes environmental impact while increasing transparency in its supply chain.

Needs

In 2024, Passenger partnered with Fairly Made® to embark on their traceability journey, starting with the tracing of their 2023 collection and setting future sustainability goals based on the insights gathered. Key objectives for the project included:

  • Mapping and evaluating suppliers to establish a responsible and transparent supplier network.
  • Tracing previous collections as part of their environmental footprint assessment, with plans to gradually trace future collections.
  • Setting material targets to guide their product footprint roadmap, aligning with transparency and impact measurement goals.

Solution

Through Fairly Made®’s traceability work, Passenger has been able to systematically map and assess its suppliers, creating a more transparent supply chain. In the initial phase, 722 products were analyzed, allowing Passenger to increase visibility from 50 to 106 manufacturers—adding more than 50 sites from the the deeper tiers of the supply chain—resulting in a 2.1x improvement in transparency. This expanded visibility empowers Passenger to make informed choices by identifying and collaborating with the most responsible suppliers. The partnership enables Passenger to make data-driven decisions about their current standing, future actions, and the potential impact of those actions.
